Today is Ray's birthday and we have been celebrating all weekend! Yesterday he went to gymnastics class with us and then we went on a day date to the movies and lunch thanks to Mimi (we're trying out another name since MamaRita is really long!). Today we enjoyed lunch with his parents at Mama Dips in Chapel Hill! Tomorrow we continue the celebrations with our trip to the beach! We're so excited!
Mackenzy and I have been busy yet up to nothing over the past few weeks. We still have our morning routine where I go to the gym and she plays at Mrs. Karen's house in the mornings for a few hours and on Fridays we go to gymnastics class. Nothing worth taking a picture over! However, our beautiful, tall, and skinny baby has finally outgrown her infant car seat... After weeks of searching the internet and taking to other moms, she now has a new convertible car seat (Thanks Mimi!). My car is small and convertible car seats are huge, but I finally settled in on this one because of the safety ratings and the Sure LATCH system- which is amazing by the way! It only took me 5 minutes to install in the car and it doesn't budge at all. Unfortunately, since my car is small, tall Ray is now squished in the seat when he rides with me, but that is a small price to pay for our daughter's safety! Just look at those long legs! She needed a new car seat! Below is a picture of her in her new Evenflo Symphony 65 with Sure LATCH! I'm glad she likes it because she'll be riding in it for a long time!
This is just a random picture of her in her exersaucer. I think she was trying to tell me she was hungry! I had to move it up to level 2 on the height thing because her legs are so long... I wonder who she gets that from!
Other exciting Mackenzy news:
- Mackenzy apparently said "uh oh" at Mrs. Karen's house when she fell down on her bottom. I haven't heard her say it yet, but I'm waiting for it.
- She started clapping her hands a few days ago and is now a clapping machine! Her new favorite song is "BINGO" because she can join in!
- She is taking a few steps while holding on to my hands and is cruising around the furniture. She only walks for me though and gives everyone else noodle legs! That's my girl!
- She says "Mama," "Dada," "Hey Nick," "Hey," "Ba ba" and a I swear she says "thank you" too. The lady in the doctors office also heard it!
- She points to things she wants or sees with her whole hands. We're still working on the 1 finger point!
- She follows me around the house and has to know where I am and what I'm doing at all times.
- Self feeding is going well with graham crackers, Cheerios, toast, Gerber puffs, and Gerber cheetos. She still prefers 3rd food purees when it comes to everything else, but we're working on it!
- Finally, I tried to give her a little formula the other day to see what she would do and she immediately spit it out! I don't blame her though. I tasted the stuff and it's gross... Formula fed babies don't know what their missing! I just hope I can find something nutritious for her to drink, because I don't plan on nursing forever!
