A Day in the life of Mackenzy...

Mackenzy is a busy little girl. She loves looking at herself in the mirror and discovered she could see me behind her if she looks in the mirror!

Giving herself a little smile!

Tummy time has not been her favorite time of the day, but she's getting strong enough that she can push up on her elbows and play with a toy at the same time! Of course if I put the mirror in front of her she'll smile at herself for a long time! She's so vain!

Moby time is one of her most favorite places to be! She loves being close to me and has a great time looking around while I do chores around the house. Once again a placed her in front of the mirror and took a picture and she perked right up!

Being so busy makes her tired and she decided to fall asleep while I was putting the sheets back on the bed.

Babies Everywhere!

There must be something in the water at work because at one point there were 3 pregnant women at McIver! First we welcomed Mackenzy Star (Sept. 2009), then Madelyn Ocean (Dec. 2009), and now we welcome Grey Stirling (Jan. 2010)! I'm sure there will be more babies in the near future at work!

Last Wednesday, we had a shower for Brandi (Grey's mom) at Mimi's. We had a wonderful time eating cake, sharing stories, and of course talking about babies! I was a little worried that Brandi would not make it to her shower because Grey was already making his journey to the outside world and she wasn't feeling well, but he held off one day so he could have his presents! (I would like to note that I said she was having a boy and that she would go in to labor on Thursday and she did!)

Here are a few pictures from the shower. Some of them were to dark because apparently 4:00 is dinner time and they begin to turn down the lights in the restaurant!

Skylar, Grey's big sister. She wasn't happy about the cameras of all the new faces but she warmed up to us by the end!

Brandi and Grey (before he decided to come 2 weeks early!)

4 months old!

This morning I woke up and realized that 1 year ago today we learned that I was 4 weeks and 3 day pregnant with Mackenzy and tomorrow she will be 4 months old! I can remember when she was the size of a pin needle and Ray was in disbelief and awe that we were going to have our 1st child.

Here are a few pictures taken after her ear piercing. As you can see, she is a much happier baby and her ears look so pretty!

The Dreaded Ear Piercing!

Ray and I knew we wanted to get Mackenzy's ears pierced while she was pretty young. By the time we prepared ourselves to take her and actually went in to the store, the woman told us that we needed her shot record... So we had to wait another week for a free moment to arise so that we could get Kenzy's ears pierced. We decided to go on Sunday morning when no one was out so she could scream as much as she liked!

You can see that in the beginning she was very happy... She was even smiling and laughing with the lady in the store... After a while she realized something was up and kept looking at the piercing gun in the woman's hand...

So Ray had to hold her still and I had to distract her so she wouldn't move around so much. This picture was taken after she pierced the left ear.

While she was screaming from the 1st one the lady pierced the right ear without her even knowing it! She still wasn't very happy about that.

Here was the end result. She has beautifully pierced ears with little diamond studs in them. We gave her some Tylenol before the whole event and she drifted off to sleep once we put her in the car. When she finally woke up she gave us a dirty look! She definitely was not happy with us...

We all survived the dreaded ear piercing. Mackenzy is going well and they don't seem to bother her at all. She doesn't like for us to clean them and turns her head towards our hands when we come near her ears so we trick her and wait until she is sleepy! Now hopefully she won't figure out how to pull them out when she's a toddler so we won't have to go through this again!

Such a cutie!

Opening presents with Nana! She looks to interested in what's in the big box!

Mother and daughter!

Grandma and granddaughter!

Mackenzy thinks she is grown and loves to try and stand up so I put her exersaucer together and let her play with it. She loves it and is able to make the noise makers make noise! She is still to short for to tough the ground, but I solved that with a couple of phone books! She's growing up so fast...

We have the hardest time getting her in to some of her cuter outfits, but I had some extra time and I put her in this cute overall set. She is definitely a well dressed baby!

Kenzy's 1st Christmas!

Here are a few highlights from Christmas 2009! Mackenzy did very well visiting with everyone but by Christmas night she was pooped and went to bed at 7:30pm and slept unil 8:45 am... only waking 2 times to eat!
