Mackenzy's Photo Shoot!

Last week, Mackenzy had another photo shoot with my friend Brandi! She took pictures of Mackenzy when she was 3 weeks old and we both felt it was time for an update! The weather was perfect and Kenzy was in a good mood. Here are a few of my favorite pictures. I wish I could have posted them all!

Mackenzy with her boyfriend, Grey (Brandi's son)! They were flirting with eachother and holding hands!

Our Little Girl is 7 months old!

I can't believe Mackenzy is 7 months old! She is a tall, skinny, strong, healthy little girl and weighs about 15 lbs and is 26 inches long! She's beginning to sleep through the night and sits up on her own! I used Winnie the Pooh this time for motivation so I could take her picture and not have her topple over...

The doctor suggested we begin feeding her food 3 times a day in addition to her milk intake in hopes that she'll put on some more weight and sleep better at night. It seems to be working, but that means that I have to wake her up 30 minutes earlier so I can feed her breakfast and get to work on time! She looks just like Ray in the morning (love you honey) and is definitely not happy when I wake her up...

She's also become super busy and reaches out for EVERYTHING!!! Especially cell phones and the TV remote. When we go anywhere I have to move everything away from her reach because she'll crawl, stand up, scoot, or whatever to get to that object! She can even get out of her bumbo seat. Her nosiness has inspired her to begin creeping/schooching around the floor. I took a video of it with my camera... Guess it's time to buy some baby gates and baby proof the house!

We're thinking about you...

This post is dedicated to my coworker who is on medical leave. We're all thinking about you and we wish you a speedy recovery.

Happy Belated Birthday

Emily and Brad's Wedding!

Last weekend, Ray and I traveled to Wilmington, NC for my friend Emily's wedding. It was our first trip without Mackenzy and she stayed with my mom for the night. We've grown very attached to our little girl and it was hard to leave her, but it was for a good cause. She was fine with grandma and after a few tears I realized that we would be reunited the next afternoon.

Emily is one of my college friends and she and Brad are so perfect for each other. She wore her grandmother's wedding dress that was tailored to fit her, Brad wore a simple suit, and their outdoor wedding in the Fragrance Gardens was exactly the kind of wedding I thought they would have. To top it off the weather was amazing that weekend! I wish them the best of luck and they continue their lives as husband and wife!

Below are a few pictures that I took from their special day. I think I have future career as a photographer!

Mackenzy's New Dance!

A few weeks ago, Mackenzy started doing this cute dance that reminds me of the dance from the movie, "A Night at the Roxbury." She does it all the time and thinks it's hilarious when I copy her! I finally caught it on "video" with my camera because we have yet to purchase a video camera! And if you're wondering, she had peas & carrots, sweet potatoes, and rice cereal made by me for dinner... Yum! She wears her dinner so well!

Mommy's on Spring Break!

This week I've been on spring break and it's been wonderful. I've gotten so much needed rest and even had time to get my hair and nails done. Most importantly I've had lots of Mackenzy time! I miss her greatly when I'm at work, but until we hit the lottery or teachers get big raises (ha ha!) I have to work so I cherish every day I get with her.

Mackenzy is starting to sit up on her own and I was able to catch her sitting all by herself! Of course as soon as I snapped the picture she toppled over, but she looked so cute sitting while it lasted! She's also starting to babble a little bit and is making "ma" and "la" sounds! She will even copy me and if I say "ma ma" she'll pucker her lips and say "ma"! I also swear she said "Hey" to me the other day and even Ray heard it, but of course she won't repeat it on demand!

And of course she loves to squeal when she's happy, is ticklish on her sides, and now makes raspberry noises and blows spit bubbles!

The best thing that has happened this week is that Mackenzy is finally sleeping her her crib! For the past 6 months she has been in her co-sleeper in our room firmly attached to our bed which was wonderful. Since she's getting older and bigger, I thought it was time to move her to her crib which was extremely difficult because her nursery is upstairs. She has been doing beautifully! She goes to bed at 8pm and even though she may wake up sometimes, she'll go back to sleep once she sees my face. I'm happy because we've come far from the the baby that was a night howl and stayed up until 12am!
