36 weeks and I'm in my 9th month!

***UPDATE: I went to see my midwife today and baby is doing well. She is measuring right at 36 weeks and is starting to find her way downwards. I haven't dropped yet, but she is heading in the right direction. My blood pressure was excellent, weight is good, and I go back next Wednesday!***

Hi folks! As you can see below our little girl is almost cooked! She's been wiggling and turning around a lot this week and I'm assuming she's trying to find her way downwards. Last week I had little feet poking me in the ribs and what I'm guessing is an arm running across my belly button.

I've also been back to work now for about 1 1/2 weeks and I think I'm doing pretty well. I haven't started teaching the kids yet, but visiting classrooms, working on schedules, and getting stuff ready for the little kiddies was great practice for tomorrow- the first day of "specials". Wish me luck!

I go back to see my midwife on Wednesday afternoon so hopefully she can tell me which way baby is facing, because I sure can't tell! All I know is that my bags are packed and in the car for whenever she decides to come!

35 weeks!

Here I am at 35 weeks! It looks like I have a watermelon in my belly! I'm feeling pretty good... I went back to work this week and although I've only been doing paperwork and trying to get ready for the kiddies to come back, I'm exhausted. On Friday I blew up like a balloon because I was so hot, but a few hours at home laying on the bed in the air conditioning cured that one! Only 5 more weeks!

Here is a picture I took a few weeks ago with my Cabbage Patch doll, Ethel Christie (I named her when I was like 6 years old...), in the car seat. They make baby items so complicated and I needed to practice putting something in the seat and the doll happily volunteered.

Here is one of the few pictures of Nicholas looking at the camera and he has hair in his eye! I tried to move it, but he kept putting it back!

What will Mackenzy look like?

Ray and I have always wondered what our babies would look like and now that Baby Mackenzy is on the way we can't help but think about what features she will get from each of us. Will she be tall like Ray or short like me? Whose nose will she have? Will she have our poor eyesight and big thighs or have perfect vision and skinny legs? I feel so blessed to be carrying a tiny baby that will have parts of both of us. I can't believe that she'll be here in 5 weeks!

Me with ET

Yep , I was round like a peanut

He still has those beautiful eyes...

34 weeks!

So I'm 34 weeks pregnant and feeling pretty good! I took these pictures right after I got home from an all day PE workshop, so I apologize for the sleepy look!

Mackenzy is doing well. She constantly pokes me with her bony limbs and attempts to stretch in my belly without much luck! I can tell she is getting cramped in there because she doesn't twist and turn as much anymore. I'm just resting on my last few days of summer vacation and praying that I can survive the hot days in the McIver gym... All is well and I can't complain because our little girl will be here soon enough! Her clothes and sheets are washed and the whole world is waiting to meet her!

Baby Shower and 33 weeks pregger!

This weekend my mom gave me a lovely Hawaiian themed baby shower! I had a wonderful time and I got to see lots of folks I haven't seen since our wedding. I want to thank everyone for coming and helping Ray and I welcome baby Mackenzy. Although she slept through the whole thing, we know that she is loved and highly anticipated by everyone around her. We almost have everything ready for her (she has so much stuff now and she's not even here yet!

Thanks for the Baby Shower Mom (aka Mama Rita)!

Ray's Grandmother (she made the yummy cake below), Aunt Vaughn, and Aunt Barbara

Ray's mom (Wanda)- She's a very excited Nana!

You can't see them really well, but those are the cutest pink snow boots ever!

Yep that's me! I have a basketball in my belly!

The delicious and beautiful cake Ray's Grandmother made! Sorry if you didn't get to see the before picture, but the cake got cut into before time... I guess some people remembered our wedding cake and couldn't resist!

Quick Update

So I went to my doctor's appointment today and everything is going well! She is measuring at 33 cm which equals roughly 33 weeks which is normal, her heartbeat is strong and regular, and my blood pressure is still awesome. I go back in 2 weeks.

The most important question of the day I had for my midwife was, "Have I dropped?" Many people say that I look lower or that she has dropped, but contrary to everyone's belief, Mackenzy is high up in my belly! At that moment, her head was around my belly button, her back was to the left, and her feet are above my belly button. She is head down, but of course that could change many times over the next couple of weeks. So I was right on this one!
