Sandbox

My pastor gave us a sandbox and while I was in DC for trip #2, my mom set it up on her back porch.  Mackenzy loves playing in the sand and being outdoors so when she saw this on the porch she was elated!

My mom let her play with the sandbox after dance class.  She had her "dancing suit" on but decided to take it off because she didn't want to get it dirty.

When my mom went in to the kitchen to get something, she came back outside to a naked toddler!  She looks so happy and proud of herself!

Where's Mackenzy?

Can you find her?

Keeping Mackenzy Busy...

Mackenzy is a very busy little girl!  In order to keep her occupied this summer and to tire her out, we have done a variety of activities.

We visited the new park and spray ground near our house.  I learned that she is afraid of water coming down but can tolerate gentle sprinklers that come up from the ground.  We also played on the new playground and climbed in tunnels!

Our neighborhood as a cute park as well.  She loves the yellow slide but is also becoming a dare devil.  After sliding down forwards a few times, she decided it would be way more fun to slide down on her tummy!

We also go and play at Mimi's house!  Mimi lets her color all she wants on her table and always has an assortment of stickers!

And of course we started dance!  Mackenzy loves dance, but so far it looks like she has inherited my poise and grace (not a good thing)...  I asked her what she wants to try next spring and she said soccer so who knows what sport she'll choose!

Red Lobster

So I took my mom out to lunch at Red Lobster, because she's awesome!  While there Mackenzy discovered the colorful sugar packets...  She took them all out of the basket... and created this!

Your guess is as good as mine!  I asked Mackenzy what it was and she said it was a lobster!

I asked her to smile so I could take a picture and she decided to strike a pose!  Such a diva!

The Phone Bandit

This is truly a sign of the times, but our 2 year old can work an iPhone better than us!  She has become techno-savvy this summer and knows how to scroll through the pages to find her favorite games.  Her favorite pastime is looking at our pictures and taking pictures of herself!  I left her alone with my phone for 5 minutes and when I looked at my pictures there were 15 of these images on my camera!

Say Cheese!

Vacation Bible School

Mackenzy attended Vacation Bible School for the first time this year!  She enjoyed it!  Below is a a picture of her on the stage with the rest of her class right before she screamed and began crying and had to be taken off stage...  Apparently Mackenzy is afraid of being up on stage and didn't want to have anything to do with the final performance!  Oh well, better luck next year!

Center City Park Movie

Our city provides a variety of free activities for families in the summers and one of them is free movies in the park!  We met up with Brandi and the kiddies to watch Ghostbusters at Center City Park and had a blast.  Of course Mackenzy had to dress up like a fairy with her wings, chowed down on popcorn which is her new favorite snack, and she had a great time playing with Skylar.  I also had a wonderful time catching up with Brandi and loving on baby Wes!

I'm sure Brandi will get me for posting this picture... Mackenzy was determined for me to hold baby Wes so that she could sit with Brandi.  Well when Wes decided he was done with me, Mackenzy didn't want to move, and Skylar wanted to sit on her mommy too!  The only person who didn't join the party was Grey who decided that dancing, running, and jumping on Granny was more fun!

And in case you can't figure out how they showed  a movie in the middle of downtown, there's the picture!  They blew up the screen, played it on a DVD player, and had huge speakers all around.  We had a great time and will be attending more events in the future!

On a side note:  When the movie started, everyone in the park stopped, danced, and sang the Ghostbusters song!  Classic moment!
