Ever since Mackenzy was born, Nicholas and her have had a love hate relationship. Nicholas loves to have her around because she always drops food, but he hates that she gets most of the attention and can lay on the bed on Saturday mornings when he can't because he hasn't had a bath yet! Mackenzy loves to have him around because she thinks he is a playmate but hates when he steals her snacks! Lately, they have become the best of friends! She has finally caught on the the concept of petting Nicholas "gently" and gives him big hugs. This morning I even caught Nicholas giving her kisses as I made breakfast or maybe he was licking the banana off her face...
Anyway, he has begun to follow her around the house when she has a snack because he knows she will try to feed him. She tries to feed me her food all the time and loves to share her Cheerios! Here is a video of Nicholas following her around the house because she has a cracker and he is determined to have a piece. Mackenzy thought it was hilarious that he was following her around!
Ray always laughs at me because I like to point out every milestone she hits. Being a special education teacher I know what kinds of skills kids should have by what age and I love seeing her meet them on time or even early. So what other things is she doing these days?
- She started walking on August 25 and is trying to run
- She loves throwing and kicking a ball
- She enjoys stacking activities and "put in" games
- She communicates with words, gestures, eye gases, pointing, and even brings me what she wants
- She helps put her clothes on, even after she runs away during diaper changes...
- She's staring to use a fork and a spoon!
- She's starting to scribble on paper and loves using a pen and a crayon!
