The Pumpkin Patch!

Today we decided to go to Mr. B's Pumpkin Patch in Graham, NC. I've been there a few times with some of the classes from school and the kids seem to really love it. Now that Mackenzy is old enough and very observant, I thought she would love it! So this afternoon we took a girls trip to the pumpkin patch- Ray wasn't as excited about animals, hay rides, and pumpkins as I was... She loved it, got a chance to pet a few animals, and picked out a few pumpkins!

We started off learning about chickens, roosters, ducks, and quail. She didn't like those birds... After she went to take a picture with the scarecrow she turned around and spotted a goat! She's such a cute toddler!

Surprisingly she wasn't afraid of the goat which was at her eye level. She pet the goat for a while, but then got distracted by the kids on the other side of the fence!

It's a miniature horse, not a pony! Which I learned are two different animals... Who knew? Well whatever you want to call the cute thing, Mackenzy loved it! She just called it a doggie because dogs are her favorite at the moment. She loved her doggie/miniature horse/pony!

I wanted to take a picture of her in front of the hay but she fell down in it instead... As you can see she wasn't to happy to be sitting in that strange stuff and gave me the "Mommy please help me up so I don't have to touch it" face...

She loved the turkeys, but wasn't fond of the cow. I thought the cow was pretty cute and he even licked my camera! She wasn't impressed...

The turkey. Mackenzy was fascinated with the turkey and wanted to pet them- thankfully they didn't come near our side of the fence. The lady assured me that they were wild turkeys and not the kind we eat on Thanksgiving day!

Here she is exploring the straw/hay while waiting for the hay ride to get started. She must have liked the way it felt because right after I took this picture she put a whole handful in her mouth!

I told Mackenzy to pick out a pumpkin for Daddy since I already got one on Friday on our school field trip. She took her job seriously! Look at the concentration on her face!

She found one! When we got home, Ray pointed out that we had 3 distinct size pumpkins... 1 large pumpkin (Ray), 1 medium pumpkin (me), and 1 small pumpkin (Mackenzy)!

Finally, a picture with Mommy! By this time we were getting kind of hot since there were no trees around the pumpkins. We had a great time though! Thanks Mr. B!
